Umami helps leaders translate intent into systems that people trust, use, and evolve — without losing momentum.
Solution architecture and management across enterprise applications, processes, and teams.
Evolving complex risk programs across process, data, experience, and technology — IRM / GRC.
Planning, organizing, and managing complex change efforts end to end.
The engagements where this work makes the biggest difference.
Spanning finance, risk, operations, and technology — where alignment across functions is what makes or breaks delivery.
Within finance, risk, or operational domains — reshaping how a function works without stalling the business.
Selection, implementation, and integration — turning a system decision into a working capability people trust.
Organizations moving from ad-hoc delivery to a durable execution model that holds after handoff.
Enabling business transformation, one team at a time. Four steps, in order — each building toward delivery that lasts after handoff.
Most breakdowns don't start as technical problems. They start when decisions stop holding, complexity grows faster than value, and trust erodes between business, technology, and delivery.
So I begin by listening — to the business, the teams, and the system as it actually runs. A curious facilitator with an open mind, I engage every point of view and surface the facts before proposing a single change.
Listening becomes understanding. I map how work actually happens — process, data, technology, and the people whose judgment holds it together — so any change fits reality, not a diagram.
That means tracing the full layering from business process through application, data, and experience, and making risk visible early — understood by the team, not discovered under pressure.
Then I design order before urgency — decision paths, ownership, and systems that enable judgment rather than replace it, built to hold under pressure and real-world variance.
The goal is not perfect systems. It is a clear path that evolves and earns its value over time — intentional by design, not improvised under deadline.
Delivery is where it becomes real. I correct course without stopping the work, turn red flags into designed signals, and leave behind systems that keep delivering — over time and under pressure.
Credible service delivery with sustained trust: capable teams execute faster with less friction, and the results hold long after I've gone.
Foundations that carry an initiative from intent to durable value — the last is where all of it becomes real, in the people and the work.
Clear articulation of goals, success criteria, and trade-offs; explicit accountability and decision authority across departments, services, and offerings; alignment of priorities, funding, and resources to what matters now and next.
Intentional design of business capabilities, processes, and services; defined inputs, outputs, and service expectations; workflows and controls that hold under pressure and real-world variance.
Coherent layering from business process through application and services; application behavior, data design, and user experience aligned to how work happens; systems designed to enable valued judgment, not replace it.
Facilitation across teams, functions, and platforms; clear transition of intent into execution without fragmentation at handoffs; agreed, working mechanisms for communication, escalation, and adjustment.
Adoption, trust, and accountability as observable outcomes; teams that surface issues early and act with clarity under stress; learning and momentum sustained — and celebrated — through change. This is where the work becomes real: capable people moving faster with less friction, and results that keep delivering long after the engagement ends.
I help leaders and teams design systems that support real human judgment, deliver results that hold over time, and create stability while navigating complexity and change.
That's where delivery lands — not just systems that ship, but outcomes people live with: teams that trust the work and carry it forward on their own.
"I appreciated the way Kevin always kept the big picture at forefront and could engage people at every level to find a better, more efficient way. He was able to challenge assumptions without being confrontational. Later, while the CEO at Syte Consulting Group, we hired Kevin to help a retail client with a fast growing online presence to select and implement an ERP solution. Again, he rose to the occasion; this time helping a young, less experienced company scale their growth and serve their customers in the best possible way."
"I worked with Kevin on a ServiceNow implementation of GRC for a client. I was very impressed by his focus on getting the details right and working hard to provide the best possible solution for the customer. He has a great understanding of the GRC processes and was always willing to dig into the technical details as well to help solve a problem. We were able to deploy our GRC work streams for the client with very little fixes/support required post-deployment and I attribute a lot of that to Kevin's hard work throughout the project to make sure when it came time to go live, all the hard work was already done! I hope I get the chance to work with Kevin again in the future, he truly made me a better professional in our time working together."
"I've had the pleasure of working with Kevin in the last couple of years. Kevin is a thought leader and is always looking at the bigger picture."
"I had the pleasure of working with Kevin at Nike and was impressed by his technical knowledge and strong understanding of how technology can be used to solve business problems. Kevin has the ability to embed himself in an organization to deeply understand his client's business and clearly articulate his proposed solution. I admire how extremely detail oriented Kevin is and I really hope I have the pleasure of working with him again in the future."
"Thank you for really looking out for the long term health of our company. You have pushed us far beyond just learning systems and accepting change. You have helped us see one another more clearly, work more efficiently and communicate more compassionately. The significance of this and how dramatically it has affected me and my team can not be overstated. Again, thank you!"
"Kevin has been a pleasure to work with on one of our customer projects. He is a Knowledge Leader in IRM/GRC and jumped into a gap on the team and integrated seamlessly with our project management and developers. Led the client and internal team to an end solution, and provided a fresh perspective on current internal processes, team and solution. Kevin was always engaged, challenged and collaborated with people he interacted with at every level."
